4) The Faroe Islands

When to go to the Faroe Islands: June through August

If you’re looking for a true adventure, venture out to the Faroe Islands.  The Faroe Islands are a remote nation in the Atlantic located between Iceland and Norway.  Although technically part of Denmark, the Islands have their own flag, government, and sport teams.

The remote location and inclement weather make the destination difficult to get to, but the rugged landscape, charming capital Torshavn, endless fjords & friendly people make the Faroes a must see.

The easiest way to reach the Faroes is by traveling directly from Copenhagen. There are daily direct flights on Atlantic Airways.  You can also reach the Faroe Islands from Norway, Iceland and Scotland but the flights are less frequent.
